FT: Apple expanding the News app

Psychological insight: People get news from aggregators. The News app already reaches 125m people per month! It now includes 450 publishers. For example the Mirror in the UK gets nearly a quarter of its readership from this app. It wants to add more countries and more UK local news.

Psychological insight: Elizabeth Dunn is leading a huge study into the interventions that boost happiness. 30,000 volunteers across the world will be given an intervention.

MIT Tech Review: AI and internet search

Psychological insight: Google and others are expecting the future to be AI-driven results. This means that questions can be asked using conversational language and that Google will attempt to answer the questions rather than just providing results.

There are moral questions though about accuracy, payment of the sources, and the potential for supply of information to support criminal activity. Great summary of the history of search engines, leading to Google dominating for 25 years.
